3D CAT Scan
Physicians have relied on computerized axial tomography scans (CAT) for years. Today, many oral surgeons rely on 3D imaging scans to provide them with a detailed view of the mouth and skull. 3D scans are quick and simple to perform. A Cone Beam Imaging System is at the heart of the 3D scanner. The cone beams are used to take literally hundreds of pictures of the face. These pictures are used to compile an exact 3D image of the inner mechanisms of the face and jaw. The oral surgeon is able to zoom in on specific areas and view them from alternate angles.
We offer a state-of-the-art surgical center that includes a Cone Beam Scanner. Only a few practices in the region have this machine in their offices.
What are the benefits to having a 3D X-Ray?
3D x-rays provide our team a more comprehensive view of your entire mouth which helps us locate issues that aren’t always identifiable in a 2D image. We in turn are able to coordinate treatment planning and dental services to our patients in more depth and can explain treatments with greater clarity and accuracy. Other benefits include:
Lower radiation dose (less than a full mouth series of intraoral film)
A quick comprehensive scan of the complete oral-maxillofacial area (14 seconds)
Immediate virtual diagnosis and treatment planning in one visit
More certainty during surgery
Easy sharing of images and diagnostic information
Trios Digital Impression Scanner
Our Trios 3 Shape Digital Impression Scanners make the process of taking impressions faster, easier, and more accurate. The process consists of a scan with a wand that allows us to highlight relevant areas that are sent to the lab for abutment and crown preparation.
The Trios 3 Digital Impression Scanners provide a more realistic scan experience in which we are able to better evaluate clinical situations through the use of natural colors and high definition photos. These features allow for better case documentation that we can easily relay to our patients.
KaVo NOMAD™ Pro 2 Intraoral X-Ray
We’ve taken the next step in the progression of delivering crowns and straightening teeth in the quickest, most advanced way possible. Our KaVo NOMAD™ Pro 2 Intraoral X-Ray utilizes the latest in X-ray technology that consistently delivers exacting, repeatable exposures. This handheld portable intraoral x-ray unit provides highly accurate x-rays. The benefit is that we no longer need to put goopy stuff in our patients’ mouths, often causing a gag reflex, to get these impressions. This intraoral x-ray unit improves the patient experience while at the same time increasing the quality of impressions.
X-Guide™
Oral surgeons have long relied on surgical templates for guided surgeries and implant treatments. The X-Guide™ allows for free-hand surgery and provides a dynamic, real-time 3D navigation for the oral surgeon. It allows for direct visuals on the surgical site at all time and significantly improves accuracy compared to free-hand implant placement. These benefits allow for a more accurate assisted in navigation of dental implant surgeries, without the need for surgical templates.
